(RE)Generation
The main theme of this year’s Maison & Objet exhibition is (Re)Generation. Exhibitors analyzed the habits of a new generation of customers and their impact on lifestyle. We, in turn, were convinced of the relevance of the trend book released by us at the end of December 2019.
Main trends of the Maison & Objet exhibition
Trend for ecology and sustainability: Environmental issues have been of concern to customers for more than a year, and the consequences of this excitement have been noted for several years in the form of trends on the tropics (leaves, exotic animals), natural materials (matting, straws, bamboo, etc.), as well as the natural colour scheme (beige, green, earthy shades). The trend of water: this year’s colour, according to the Pantone colour University, was classic blue. At the exhibition, we saw many variations in shades of blue, textures that mimic the water surface and images of marine life. The trend of «Handcrafted»: products that imitate manual labour, or made by hand. This trend is observed in both furniture and decor. In the city, people increasingly want to feel the warmth and comfort, this task is perfectly handled by things made by human hands.
In conclusion
We really liked the atmosphere of the exhibition, the cute small-talks with sellers on small stands, and, of course, the atmosphere of the city holiday, with its charm and easy elegance, which was visible everywhere.
